Welcome to the practice of Mark D. DeGenova DDS. The doctor and his staff are serious about providing superior dental care at a reasonable cost. They are proud of their dedication to help you feel and look your best through excellent dental care.
The Doctor
Dr. Mark D. DeGenova is a 1984 graduate of Ohio State University, College of Dentistry. He completed his general practice residency at Youngstown Hospital Association in 1985. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Corydon Palmer Dental Society, the American Orthodontic Society, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He has over 25 years of experience in Implant Dentistry.
Dr. DeGenova has experience with several leading implant systems and has extensive knowledge of the Bicon Implant system, a system that has over 30 years of proven reliability and history. Bicon was one of the first systems to receive FDA approval.
Dr. DeGenova has implemented the concept of integrating multiple disciplines of dentistry to achieve desired dental goals. Using this approach the doctor and staff can provide a wide range of options to their patients creating a happier healthier smile.
The Staff
Our office coordinator, Annie, has over 25 years of experience in our office. Her expertise in insurance related issues can provide our patients with the best possible reimbursement and can assist in providing multiple payment and financial options.
Our dental assistants Robin, Tarrah, and Tina each have years of experience. They have extensive experience in both dental assisting and in dental radiology. Our staff has the ability to provide our patients with detailed explanations of treatment plan options as well as answering any questions that may arise.

Our full-time and part-time Registered Dental Hygienists Melinda, Susie, and Valerie are all graduates of Youngstown State University. All bring years of hygiene experience and knowledge to our practice.
With over 50 years of combined experience they can help you maintain good oral hygiene as well as achieve a healthier, more beautiful smile. Most importantly, they screen and educate patients about oral health concerns such as gingivitis and periodontal (gum) disease.
The Office
Our office has provided quality dental care to the greater Youngstown area for nearly 70 years. Dr. Daniel DeGenova (Dr. Mark's father) began his practice in the area in 1958 and practiced until 2008. Our concerns go beyond providing quality dentistry to our patients. Our office uses state of the art Dexis digital x-ray equipment, which reduces patient radiation by 92% over conventional x-ray film. Our advanced imaging systems allow us to see potential problems that may be missed by conventional methods. Our amalgam recovery unit surpasses all EPA standards.
We make every effort to provide the cleanest water, equipment, and even air possible. The self contained pure water operatory delivery system gives you the cleaniest handpiece water delivery possible. Our advanced sterilization protocol will add to your safety and peace of mind, including Molekule® Air filtration units in each operatory, paired with a REME Halo® UV-C light whole office air purification in the HVAC system. Additional night time UV-C lights are used in common areas when unoccupied for bacteria, spore, and viral decontamination.
Dr. DeGenova is pleased to announce the most advanced high level disinfection availible anywhere in the world. This new technology is the Far-UV Sterilray™. This wall mounted high photon energy lamp destroys cronovirus. The Far-UV Sterilray advantages are:
- Produces up to 1000 times greater destruction than any other UV sources.
- Produces high-level disinfection of room air and exposed surfaces.
- Destroys surface pathogens (MRSA, C. difficile, VRE) that routinely compromise the healthcare environment.
- Safe to use when the room is occupied during dental procedures.
- Uses Far-UV Steriray™ that is FDA approved.
- Safe on skin as opposed to UV-C which can cause erythema.
- Safe to look directly at, unlike conventional UV-C.
Microorganisms within aerosols (airbore particles) created by dental handpieces, coughing, sneezing, and other sources are destroyed in less than a second. This creates an environment focused on safety and piece of mind.
